"So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told." -- Acts 27:25
In the midst of the storm, earthquake or tsunami we need firm, dry ground on which to stand. There are always those who give words of hope, based on human conjecture. But, to be confident of deliverance, we need far more than the guess work of men... we need a sure word from God.
Paul gave the sailors courage and reassurance; not with his own word of wisdom or insight, but with a word from God. His faith was fully rooted in God doing "exactly" as he said. This was the basis of his courage and the focus of his encouragement to others. To Paul, a word from God was the bedrock of his faith.
The Lord may not appear to you in the night hours, but he has spoken to you in the Holy Scriptures. Do you have faith that "it will be exactly" as you have been told in the Word my friend? If you do, there is no storm, earthquake or tsunami powerful enough to shake your faith; because you have a Word from God.
