"When our days there were ended, we departed and went on our journey, and they all, with wives and children, accompanied us until we were outside the city. And kneeling down on the beach, we prayed and said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home." -- Acts 21:5-6
People say farewell all over the world. Goodbyes are given at train stations, airports and driveways. Parting company can be sad and it can also be exciting for those moving into new challenges. But, the way we part is a real matter of interest. For believers, moving on may be sad but we do so with peaceful hearts.
As Paul and his team continued on their journey, they were sure to face trouble in Jerusalem. Saying goodbye was a sad moment but they gathered together and prayed. Committing our ways to the Lord will bring confidence for out travels and peace for those who remain.
Do you commit all your ways to the Lord my friend? Are all your journeys bathed in prayer? Solomon wrote in Proverbs 3:6, "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Every farewell is much easier and acceptable when the Lord is acknowledged in prayer.
