"For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head." -- Obadiah 15
News reports return to Israel again and again. History records nations and leaders who have risen up to attack and abuse this nation. But after all the ages are passed and the day of the Lord comes, their deeds shall return on their own head.
The words of the Lord to Abraham were quite clear in Genesis 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." May our own country take heed to the words of Scripture and the prophet Obadiah's warning.
Remember my friend, there is nothing political about God's elective and covenant relationship with His people Israel. Consider the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 11:28- 29, "As regards the gospel, they are enemies of God for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." Therefore, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!" (Psalm 122:6)
