"What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes early away." - Hosea 6:4
Do you love the Lord? Well of course you love the Lord, doesn't everyone? Not really; and those who do love the Lord love in varied degrees. How deep is your love and how long does it last?
The Lord was quite frustrated with His people. Their love for Him lasted only as long as a morning cloud or early dew. When the heat of life pressed in their loved slipped away. Other interests, desires, passions and pursuits took a higher priority and the Lord was soon forgotten.
Are you persuaded that believers are free to choose how much they should love the Lord my friend? What guideline or standard should be followed when we measure our love for God? Instead of the morning cloud or early dew, how about Deuteronomy 6:5 or Luke 10:27..."You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind."
