"Thus says the Lord: Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah that come to worship in the house of the Lord all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not hold back a word. It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds." -- Jeremiah 26:2-3
Throughout the ages God has chosen individuals to speak for Him. They have been given a charge to proclaim the message of the Lord without holding back a word. The calling has been one that carried hope for repentance and yet possible persecution for the speaker. Today is no different than Jeremiah's day... we need those who will stand in the pulpit and say "Thus says the Lord!"
We don't need those who are moved by the whims of men and politically correct issues. We don't need those who are afraid to speak with spiritual conviction and Biblical clarity. We don't need those who speak "peace, peace, when there is no peace". More than ever, we need those who will stand without fear and say... "Thus says the Lord!"
Pray for such men my friend. Pray that God will send them across this land and around the globe. Pray for those that God will send, that they will remain bold and true to the message given to them. Pray that hearts will be open and receptive to the reviving work of the Spirit of God. Pray as if your very life depended on it... because the life of the church does!
