“Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord… “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord… The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” – Jeremiah 17:5-9
The choice is clear and often repeated throughout the Scriptures. Trusting people leads to trouble and trusting God leads to blessing. No one's plan is ever better than God's plan. So, which road do we choose to follow? Are we sure that we're on the right path? Do we dare trust our own heart? Even that is deceitful above all things.
The so called successful gambler will only bet on a "sure thing". Well, in life there is one, and only one "sure thing"... that is to "trust the Lord". All other steps are dead end efforts at best. Search your heart my friend and be sure that you do not trust a faulty person or your sin-sick heart. Remember... "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5)
