“If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses?  And if in a safe land you are so trusting, what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?” – Jeremiah 12:5

Somewhere in the early years, we are led to believe that life will get better. We tend to think that the troubles of youth will slip away as we mature. Then, as time passes, we find out that the challenges of later years are often the most difficult. Along with this, whenever the struggles come, we find ourselves questioning the Lord and wondering when they will pass.
The answer is simple. The storms and hardships will pass in God's good time. And those that will follow may be even more pressing. But, in all that we face, He is there to give us strength. He only asks us to stay the course and stand strong in Him. The Lord was quite pointed with Jeremiah in answer to his complaint. If we grow weary in the small stuff, what will we do when darker days come?
Don't let the rocks on the path cause you to stumble my friend. The day may come when the path seems to disappear and you will need to trust the One who leads the way. In the hard days, rather than grieve and grow weary, dig in and grow strong in your faith. The demanding days ahead will need matured faith strengthened by the simpler challenges of today.
