"Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest." -- John  4:35
As I gave tribute to my father-in-law yesterday, I am reminded today of his dedication to the harvest. George visited more people in his lifetime than anyone could count. He looked for every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with someone new. To him, the harvest was as ripe in his latter days as it was when he began his ministry.
Jesus was clearly dedicated to the harvest and used every opportunity to pass on such zeal to his disciples. It is no wonder that the Lord's last commission to his followers was focused on the harvest. And it is still his commission to us today... the fields are white for harvest, therefore go and make disciples.
This Thursday night a vast number of believers will gather to remember the marvelous grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in the life of his faithful servant. George started well, ran well and finished well. He worked the harvest and reaped more souls than can be counted. How about you my friend? Have you been working the harvest lately?
