COWBOY ETHICS

During a recent reading of COWBOY ETHICS I thought, "This stuff sounds like it comes right out of the Bible". So, from one Cowboy to another... COWBOY ETHICS with Scripture support:

1) LIVE each day with COURAGE... "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9

2) TAKE pride in your WORK ... "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." - Col. 3:23-24

3) ALWAYS FINISH what you start... "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." - Acts 20:24

4) DO what HAS to be done... "Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need." - Eph. 4:28

5) Be TOUGH, but FAIR... "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" - Micah 6:8

6) When you make a PROMISE, KEEP IT..."When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay." - Eccles. 5:4-5

7) RIDE for the BRAND... “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Gal. 2:20

8) TALK LESS and say more... "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent." - Prov. 17:27-28

9) REMEMBER that some things AREN'T FOR SALE ... "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. " - Prov. 22:1

10) KNOW where to DRAW the LINE...  "The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers." - 1 Peter 4:7

- Marshall Jim
