“For twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken persistently to you, but you have not listened. You have neither listened nor inclined your ears to hear, although the Lord persistently sent to you all his servants the prophets" -- Jeremiah 25:3-4
Peter wrote of the Lord's patience in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." Whether in the days of Jeremiah, Peter or today, our God is, according to the old phrase, "Long suffering".
When times of spiritual correction come, let's not think or believe that we never had a warning. The word that is used twice in the above passage is "persistently". God's great desire has always been focused on repentance, rather than judgment. He has always given fair warning of our sin and its heartbreaking results.

Why wait until there are no more signposts my friend? Turn to the Lord today, before the summer is past and the harvest is over?
