"To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ" - Ephesians 3:8

Occasionally, you will meet a pastor who has a true servant's heart. Such a man finds the greatest joy and satisfaction in simply preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ. This last Saturday I attended a memorial service, celebrating just such a life. Known for his humility and grace, passionate about preaching Christ, my good friend Gary Auker has quietly slipped into the Lord's presence.
The interesting thing about Paul, and for that matter Gary, is the fact that they were successful in ministry and well educated. They both could have claimed power and prestige and been so received. But these men recognized that they were, and always would be, just sinners, saved by grace. With such an attitude they became useful tools in the Master's hand for His glory.
Take note my friend and learn the secret of spiritual success and influence. Never forget where you came from and never lose sight of the most important goal in life. As believers, and as servants of the Lord, we are just sinners saved by grace, sent to proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ.
