“As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them, until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom... And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them.’” – Daniel 7:21-22, 27
Some people consider Biblical prophecy to be confusing and of little relevant value. In this chapter, Daniel is also quite troubled, as his "thoughts greatly alarmed" him. Yet, we read that he kept the matter in his heart. Is there good reason to know prophecy and keep the matter in our hearts?
The above passage proves to be quite relevant. We are told that persecution will come and it will prevail for a time. But prophecy is filled with hope as the passage speaks of the Ancient of Days coming with judgment for the saints. And hope is increased to great expectation with the knowledge of an everlasting kingdom being given to the saints of the Most High.
Biblical Prophecy tells us the end of the story, and the end is glorious for all those that know Jesus as Savior and Lord. As you live for the Lord, persecution will most definitely come, but it's only a matter of time until the Ancient of Days will bring a bright and promising future for His people. Stay the course my friend with hope and expectation.
