The Unsearchable Riches...

Today's Readings: OT - Prov. 24:23-34 / NT - Ephesians 3:1-13

"To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ" - Ephesians 3:8

When God calls someone into ministry, He looks for a true servant's heart. Such a heart finds the greatest joy and satisfaction in simply preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ. In our present day such men are few and far between. Too many pastors are driven toward success, prosperity, or popularity. In the pursuit of these goals the pure joy and  satisfaction of proclaiming the unsearchable riches of Christ is often lost.

The interesting thing about Paul is the fact that he was both successful in ministry, and well educated. He could have claimed power and prestige and been so received. But he recognized that he was, and always would be, just a sinner, saved by grace. With such an attitude he became a useful tool in the Master's hand for His glory.

Take note my friend and learn the secret of spiritual success and influence. Never forget where you came from and never lose sight of the most important goal in life. As believers, and as servants of the Lord, we are just sinners saved by grace, sent to proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Tomorrow's Rdings: OT - 1 Kings 5 / NT - Ephesians 3:14-4:16
