Today's Readings: OT - Nehemiah 12:44-47 / NT + Revelation 19
"Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." -- Revelation 19:10
Over the years, as the Pastor, I needed to express public appreciation to those who had performed some ministry within our church. I was very careful to include all who had participated and not include others who were not involved. It's important to carefully honor only those who are worthy of recognition.
There are appointed Angels who are active in the work of God, as well as other significant servants of the Lord. These are important personalities in the unfolding ministry of Jesus, but they are not, nor will they ever be God. There is only one who is worthy of our worship, and that one alone is the Lord. Only He is to be honored with our worshipful love and devotion.
There are many opportunities to honor and worship someone other than God. Be careful to avoid this temptation my friend. Our worship is to be solely given to the Lord "...with all our heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37). Even the Angels are only fellow servants, so worship God and Him alone.

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for sharing this word of God 🙏. These days many of the ministers are even asking recognition for themselves and to the level of asking people to call them names like father, Dad, prophet and apostles, etc, in addition to the abnormal requests financial gifts in exchange of prayers they offer to us. Doesn't you think this is the trap of worshipping servants of God?????
