"Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you." - Psalm 51:12-13
Every spring the grass in our yard starts to grow again. Over the years, before it could be cut we needed to have the lawn mower tuned up. Sometimes it needed serious repair before it could do the job right. The quality of the mower determines the quality of the work.
David spent time in confession before the Lord to restore his spiritual life. He grieved over his offending God and desired a renewal of fellowship. He yearned for the joy and gladness that could only come from a right relationship with his Lord. But after all this was said, he also knew this was needed to bring others to the knowledge of God. David knew that the quality of his life would determine the quality of his work.
Take inventory today my friend. Are you in right fellowship with the Lord? Is your heart clean and unshackled from the guilt of sin? Have you taken time for a spiritual tune up and are you ready to teach others about Jesus? Remember, the quality of your life will determine the quality of your work.
