Time for Healing

"Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land; there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed." -- Hosea 4:1-2

Should anyone ever say that the Bible and especially the Older Testament is irrelevant, they would do well to read this passage. This condition is front page news and is most definitely the current condition of our land. While Scriptures are often read such occasions as the 9/11 memorial service, there is still no real love for the Lord.

This passage was written about God's people hundreds of years ago, yet the sinful ways of men have not changed. Our lives are broken and dysfunctional at best, and we still need a Savior more than ever. We can deceive ourselves into believing that God's love will overlook our wickedness and evil, but the message of Hosea still rings true; "the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land".

The time for a spiritual revival is long overdue my friend. The Lord is the same, yesterday, today and forever and when "there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; ... breaking all bounds, and bloodshed following bloodshed." within any nation, He is displeased. Seek the face of God and pray that He will heal this land, beginning with His church.
