"He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."" -- Acts 1:7-8
It has been said that curiosity killed the cat. In the same way curiosity has killed the spiritual impact of many of God's children. From the very inception of the church there has been unending interest in the time and surrounding events of the second coming of Jesus. For some, this interest has become a preoccupation and efforts to reach the unbeliever have waned. In this age, God's people have one Great Commission... be my witnesses.
How much time do you spend chasing down the hair splitting theological issue of the day my friend? In contrast, how much of your time and energy is spent on making disciples of all nations? Remember... we have received power to be his witnesses.
