The Knight

"Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." - Matthew 24:30-31

The book or movie grips your interest and gradually leads you to the very edge of your seat. "What will happen next?" you might think. Will evil finally win the day? Is there any hope for good to gain the victory? Well, in the classic morality theme good always wins. But is this just a fictional story line that doesn't happen in real life? Is there really a knight in shining armor on the way?

Well, the Knight himself has spoken. He exists and is most definitely on His way! He doesn't leave the reader with a Disney World fantasy about the future though. The days that ahead will be dark and full of trouble. Trials and hardships are upon us even as I write. But for the children of the King, the Son of Man is coming in the clouds! Yes Virginia, there is a Knight in Shining armor!

Don't give up my fellow believer. In His time, the Lord will sound a trumpet and gather his elect from the four winds. As Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, "For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words."
