Peace from the Prince

“‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.’… and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” - Micah 4:2-3
The latter verse is depicted by a statue at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. We find it used time and again in similar settings. It seems that we desperately want the peace without the Prince of peace.
Men are quick to take Scripture out of context to support man driven efforts. They strive toward a future Utopia, not realizing that evil must be purged and righteousness prevail before peace can reign.
As it is in the greater world so it must be in the little world of our hearts. The call is the same today as it was in the days of Paul; repent toward God and have faith in Christ (Acts 20:21). Only when you find the Prince of Peace will you finally find peace my friend.
