Where's the Fire?

“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. “ ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!" -- Revelation 3:14-15
To coin a phrase of Francis Chan's, are you lukewarm and loving it? Have you found just the right temperature for your porridge... not too hot and not too cold? Are you "Christian" enough to appease your inner conviction and "worldly" enough to keep your neighbors at ease? Well, how does "the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation" feel about such a lifestyle?
The evangelical church of America has never been so middle of the road and lethargic than it is today. While the books and conferences are in abundance with new and brighter ways to package the church, we are still the same temperature... lukewarm and loving it.
Where has the fire gone my friend? Where is the passion and drive that took our Savior to the cross and Paul the Apostle around his world with the gospel three times? What happened to the "burning heart" of your early days of new faith? May we stop and follow the counsel of the One who is standing at the door and knocking;  "...be zealous and repent"!
