God IS in Control

“It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me." -- Jeremiah 27:5

Like ants that build their tunnels and mounds, so are men who scurry about building their kingdoms. They are under the false impression that they are in control and rule by their own power and wisdom. Wise is the leader who recognizes, as Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon in Daniel 4:34-35, that God's "dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”

As we are inundated with news reports focused on the "Road to the White House", may we remember that God gives such leadership to whomever it seems right to HIM. Fear not my friend, the LORD of hosts is still very much in control of His earth. Be obedient to the Word of God recorded in Romans 13:1 "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." and leave the rest to Him.
