"Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the LORD are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them." - Hosea 14:9
Algebra was not my favorite subject in High School. I would come up with the answers easily enough, but the teacher always wanted to see "the work". So, without the right steps, even a right answer was marked down. Life is very much the same way; we might get to the goal, but if we don't do it the right way it just doesn't count.
The Israel of Hosea's time built her nation her own way, with her own worship. She made many alliances and gained great wealth. But the ways of the Lord were ignored and in the end she lost it all. Wisdom and discernment knows that the "ways of the Lord" are always right and need to be followed or getting to any goal just doesn't count.
Do you know "the ways of the Lord" my friend? Are you wise and discerning enough to walk in them? Or have you stumbled in them and lost the prize? Remember, there is only one God, and He is the LORD. And, there is only one way, and it's God's way.
