"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Friday, a number of onlookers were killed during a freak plane crash at the Reno National Championship Air Races. Saturday, Ted Kennedy's oldest daughter Kara died at a Washington area health club and Eleanor Mondale Poling, daughter of former Vice President Walter F. Mondale, died at her farm in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Both were 51. Life is short and unpredictable.
Since our physical lives are slipping away faster than we realize, what we focus on is more important than anything. Paul devoted his life to serve the Lord and His people. He focused on what is unseen; eternal values and eternal souls. As a result he rarely lost heart and always had reason to press on in ministry.
Yes, life is short and unpredictable my friend. We are all outwardly wasting away every day, but those who know and serve the Lord faithfully are being renewed every day as well. Stay on point and keep your focus where it counts, because, "what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal"
