"Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy." -- Ezekiel 16:49
Our judgment upon Sodom has often been more focused on the sexual perversion than anything else. But, how does such a condition develop? Was there other guilt that offended the heart of God? The above passage enlightens us concerning the excessive sin baggage of that people. And the people of Israel were guilty of walking the same path.
Look around my friend and you will see the same condition today... "pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease", failing to "aid the poor and needy". When the Lord was confronted with their haughtiness and abominable ways, He removed them. Once again, let us humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and pray for our nation.
