"They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!”But Peter continued knocking, and when they opened, they saw him and were amazed." -- Acts 12:15-16
How do people really pray? Some pray with mixed doubt or little faith that their requests will be answered. Others pray out of desperation, believing that there is no other alternative. Yet, there are a few who pray with a genuine spirit of expectation; which are you?
We see the early church, full of those who were as close to the resurrection of Christ as possible. Yet, with the first hand knowledge of the miraculous, they were still amazed at Peter's deliverance. They prayed, but were they expectant?
Don't ever stop praying my friend, but nurture your faith and expectation. Remember who it is to whom you are praying and that he is our Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer. He is the compassionate lover of our souls and all that he does is good. Be expectant, every day whenever you pray.
